Introducing TIME + SPACE Studios...
We are delighted to introduce TIME + SPACE Studios, the fastest growing family of film and TV studios in the UK. This comes as we today announce our multi-million pound investment into Twickenham Film Studios, the much loved studio, world renowned heritage brand and fantastic trading company. We will shortly be announcing more exciting plans to develop the estate in West London with more studios and flexible workspace complete with new and upgraded facilities.
We are living in a golden age of content creation that will drive huge employment for future generations to come. Our plan will deliver much needed facilities that will transform the industry in the UK, resulting in more film stage capacity, more skilled jobs that will further boost the growth of the creative industries and the UK economy.
Our studio operating platform has been designed to offer a new experience to producers, one that combines world class studios with amenities and a first class hospitality service. Available at Twickenham Film Studios in London and soon Ashford International Film Studios in Kent and Littlewoods Film Studios in Liverpool as part of our phase one expansion.
Our developments are in response to the UK film industry currently facing a 2.5m sqft deficit of available film studio space. That is estimated to be costing the UK economy £4bn per annum, despite already offering outstanding infrastructure and globally renowned crew. We are committed to answering the industry's urgent need for high quality production space.
However this is just the start.
Our parent company, The Creative District Improvement Co. is an urban regeneration specialist that is leading on a £500m investment programme to develop brand new creative hubs in London and in the regions and nations, with studios at its heart, at multiple locations in the UK. These projects will deliver major social economic benefits into these areas.
Crucial to our investment is education which will ensure the long term sustainability and success of our projects. We are going to create apprenticeships and training opportunities offering practical on-set experience, to harness potential and further develop a skilled labour force in the screen industries.
This is essential to creating a supply chain, an ecosystem of like-minded creative people and businesses at our studios. This sort of ecosystem, a vibrant community of freelancers and SMEs is essential to the growth of the UK film industry as well as the wider creative industries.
We are serious about creating something that really makes a difference and are grateful to our friends and partners for all their support so far. But we want to do much more, so look forward to further collaborations in the future.
